What will you do as a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres)

As a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and delivering network and telecommunications infrastructure for mission-critical data centre projects. You will lead technical design activities, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with client requirements and international standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design and development of network infrastructures for critical data centre systems and external connectivity;
  • Produce detailed telecommunication design packages, including specifications, layouts, schematics, and network diagrams for global projects (greenfield and brownfield);
  • Develop network infrastructure philosophies, perform site surveys, and prepare compliance and improvement reports;
  • Coordinate and integrate network infrastructure scopes with other engineering disciplines (Controls, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Security, etc.);
  • Support construction, testing, and commissioning phases, including RIBA Stage 5 and Integrated Systems Testing (IST Level 5).

As our new Lead ICT/ Telecoms Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres) you will become part of our Global Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team.

Our global MCF team provides multidisciplinary consultancy services to datacenter clients, including colocation datacentres, internet service providers, and telecom companies. The team is diverse, with expertise in areas like electrical and mechanical engineering, construction, architecture, fire safety, control engineering, and security technology. Together, this knowledge is used to develop integrated designs for Data Centres. You will be part of a dedicated, passionate team that is globally recognized as one of the best in Data Centre design and engineering. Curious about our work? The role will be based in our Nijmegen office.

As our team is located throughout the EU, travel between offices may be required to meet the project demands. The role may also require occasional travel to client offices / project sites both in the EU and overseas.

What you bring

You combine excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a structured, proactive, and independent work style. You’re comfortable in a consulting role, coordinating complex technical scopes and collaborating across disciplines in international data centre or industrial environments.

Requirements:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Automation, or Systems Design Engineering (or equivalent experience), with 5+ years in network infrastructure engineering for telecoms or data centres, and proven consulting experience in similar sectors;
  • Certification & Technical Expertise: Certified Network Infrastructure Design Professional (CNIDP) with strong knowledge of IT system design, structured cabling, networking, and integration with industrial systems;
  • Standards & Compliance: Familiarity with ISO 22237, EN 50600, and relevant EU/ UK legislation to ensure compliance in mission-critical design;
  • Tools & Communication: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Autodesk products (for mark-ups/reviews) and excellent English communication skills, written and verbal;
  • Additional Skills: Strong organizational and time-management abilities, willingness to travel, and advantage for experience with wireless access points, NOC/SOC systems, SCADA/BMS/DCIM interfaces, emerging technologies (AI/ML), or additional languages.
