Hydraulic Expert

For a flood and debris flow mitigation project in Ecuador, Haskoning is identifying a Hydraulic Expert residing in Ecuador, specialized in numerical modelling of debris flows, to participate on a project-based basis. 

What will you do

You will lead advanced hydraulic and numerical modelling activities supporting the design of mitigation measures. 

• Perform numerical modelling of debris flows and extreme hydraulic events 
• Analyse complex flow behaviour in rivers and mountainous catchments 
• Provide technical input for mitigation design 
• Prepare specialist reports and technical documentation 
• Coordinate with geotechnical and design experts

This is a project-based position for professionals based in Ecuador, working within an international technical team. 

What you bring

You are a senior hydraulic specialist based in Ecuador, with deep expertise in advanced numerical modelling. 

• Completed Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Fluvial Engineering or related field 
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in hydraulic modelling 
• Proven experience as a specialist in numerical modelling of debris flows (explicit, demonstrable) 
• Participation in at least 4 consultancy projects > USD 500,000 
• Proven participation in at least 1 consultancy project ≥ USD 1.6 million
